According to a news report published in the New York Times, Jeffrey Tambor has exited the Broadway musical show ‘La Cage aux Folles.’
Tambor replaced Kelsey Grammer for the show after Kelsey gave his last performance for the show on Feb. 13. Kelsey played the role of nightclub host Georges. The reason of Kelsey to exit the show was his fourth marriage with Kayte Walsh. Kayte Walsh married Kelsey on Friday.
However, Jeffrey Tambor found it difficult to perform the role of Kelsey for ‘La Cage aux Folles.’ The reason is quite understandable. According to the producers of the show who have issued a statement about Tambor exiting the show, Tambor “was experiencing complications from recent hip surgery and the pain and the challenge of performing in a musical eight times a week proved to be too physically demanding.” It was an amicable split.
On Friday, producers of the show explained that the Arrested Development actor had left the revival after Thursday’s performance. Tambor had performed for the show for more than one week.
