Along with Theresa Rebeck, two stars also depart from Smash

Recently, Theresa Rebeck, the show creator of Smash was evicted from the team of Smash; however, she won’t be alone in departing thee NBC Broadway drama.

Regular stars of first season of Smash, Raza Jaffrey and Jaimee Cepero will not be returning for the second season of the musical series.

Jaffrey played the role of Karen’s cheating fiancé (Katherine McPhee played the role of Karen) on the series. Cepero played the villainous character, the scheming Ellis, who finally got his walking papers when Anjelica Hourston’s Eileen fired him in the last episode.

According to reports, none of these actors will be returning for Smash’s second season. The second season will be created by a new showrunner Josh Safran (of the fame of Gossip Girl).

While it is now known that Jaffrey and Cepero will not be returning to the show either as recurring or series regulars next season, there are possibilities that they may appear in an episode or two to finish up their respective story lines.
