One of the much-awaited weddings in Hollywodd happened last Friday as famous comedian Kelsey Grammer tied the knot with Kayte Walsh held at the Longacre Theater in New York City. The luxurious reception was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Plaza Hotel. The guests that attended the bash said that the wedding was beautiful and so full of love. The May-December love affair between 56-year-old actor Kelsey Grammer and the 29-year-old British flight stewardess Walsh proved that age is not a boundary when you are in love.
After Grammer’s divorce from his third wife Camille Grammer (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) which happened two weeks ago, he focused on fixing his nuptials to Walsh. A guest said that Grammer, a father of four, is very taken with his new bride.
The venue of the wedding was the same place where Grammar got a nomination for Tony Awards for the Broadway play “La Cage Aux Folles”. It was just like a scene from a romantic movie as the couples exchanged vows on stage, the music played from La Cage’s full orchestra. Grammer’s kids from his previous relationships became the bridesmaids and groomsmen including his daughter Greer Grammer, actress Spencer Grammer and his son Jude from ex-wife Camille. Her daughter Mason from Camille did not attend the wedding. Present were Walsh’s sister, two brothers and nephew. The couple’s best friends Angela Copeland was the Maid of Honor and Carl Degersdorff was the Best Man.
One of the highlights of the evening were a special poetry readings from the couple’s close friends and family as well as a song number from Walsh’s brother Stuart as he sang the song “Feels Like Home”.
Walsh looked amazing in a Peter Langer satin and chiffon gown for Mark Ingram. Her hair was tied up and she wore gold heels. Grammer looked dashing in a charcoal suit and gold tie.
The guests also enjoyed a delectable menu consisting of braised short-ribs, ginger prawns, slow-roasted turkey breast with chorizo stuffing and fillet mignon au poivre. The spotlight went on to the 55-inch-tall carrot cake made by famous cake designer Sylvia Weinstock. The carrot cake had cream cheese, caramel and coconut whipped up filling.
Grammer and Walsh first appeared together last July a few weeks after Grammer left his wife Camille. Walsh suffered a miscarriage last September and by December same year the couple were engaged. People are now wondering if this would be Grammer’s third and last wedding or there would still be more.
