Kelsey Grammer May Give Up Acting for Politics EventuallyMonday, August 1, 2011
Kelsey Grammer is seriously looking forward for a political career. Kelsey Grammer is well known for his work as Fraiser star. He is a Republican who enthusiastically campaigned on the road for John McCain in 2006. Recently in an interview with New York Post, he expressed that he may give up acting eventually to focus on politics. “I have had a great career and extraordinary opportunities,” he says. “But I look at my political aspirations as that last piece of my life—where I hope to do something good for people and pay back a little.” He would be appearing as the ruthless mayor of Chicago in an upcoming show, Boss, which will premiere on Starz this fall. While Hollywood is considered as traditionally liberal, Grammer provided funds to help launch a small cable channel Rightnetwork during the last fall. Speaking about it, he said, “It is not unfamiliar for me to have a point of view that might be considered out of the norm in my community.” While he seems quite determined to enter politics, he didn’t give any hint about when he’d enter the political line. “Even the solution they are talking about now—the 10-year, $3-trillion solution—that has to be paid for. Nobody is talking about actually getting rid of the debt that exists already,” he says. “That doesn’t make any sense. It’s first-grade math.” He also talked about his hiatus from TV screen when he gave up acting three years ago. “I spent several months sort of looking at my own life,” he says. “And I just decided I didn’t want to have [Hank, which was quickly canceled on Fox last year] be my last story.” Short link: http://www.platotv.tv/s/288o_ Reply to the topicDelete this Comment? |
