Kelsey Grammer Returns on TV with Starz’s Boss

Kelsey Grammer has got a dark role in his first drama series which is Starz’s upcoming sitcom Boss.

Kelsey Grammer will play the role of a ruthless mayor of Chicago who has been diagnosed with a degenerative mental condition. However, nobody knows about his health condition except him and his doctor.

The series will be premiered on Oct. 21 and it will mark Grammer’s return on television after a 2 year long gap.

During an interview, he said, “I took a break for a while, and there were a lot of reasons I did.”

“I decided I needed to make a life change,” he added.

This time, he has changed the genre of his work from comedy to drama. This may be because of his earlier experience with his most recent half-hour series, Hank, which lived short on ABC.

“Nobody really liked that,” Grammer said. “It wasn’t really funny.”

Grammer said that he even called Peter Roth, the president of Warner Bros. TV that the series isn’t working. “I asked, ‘How do we put a bullet in this thing?’”

However, he informed that his experience on Boss is much better.

“It’s been probably the greatest time of my life, creatively,” Grammer said.

“I have said some of the most extraordinary language I’ve said in my life doing this role.”
