One of housemates of MTV’s “The Real World”, Naomi Defensor, revealed that living in the Bronx made her ready to live with strangers. Defensor grew up in a drug and prostitution infested place in the Bronx, which made her become tough. She said that Hunts Point area is famous for its high crime rate and for kids staying away from school because even that is not a safe place for them.
Before “Big Brother” came out, MTV already paved way for reality TV with its longest-running show. This week, “The Real World” returns with the same format, but with different housemates. This show features girls and guys in their 20s and 30s and coming from all walks of life living together in one roof.
Defensor admitted that living in the Bronx has caused her family a lot of trouble such as her mom getting involved with drugs because of the temptations in the neighborhood. Despite the problems she faced when she was younger.
Defensor was able to graduate last year at the Buffalo State College and currently completing a few credits to finally get her degree. She said that she does not have a perfect family, but her two sisters were a good influence to her. Her mom was also there to support her, despite the drug case that her mom got involved in.
Defensor said that living with other college students and being a sorority president helped her deal with different people on the show. She revealed that she had to live up with some crazy roomies just like the one she had when she was a Freshman in college. This girl was so loud and would even steal some of her clothes. She said that it won’t be easy to get along with everyone, but you need to learn to see common ground and treat these people fairly. Defensor usually was the mediator in the new season of the famous MTV reality show.
Viewers are expected to see a lot of drama and craziness in the new season of “The Real World” and including a teaser where Defensor was shown in bed with a housemate saying that she does not want to have sex with him and for him to leave her alone. She said that what was shown on the trailer was just part of what the viewers would see on the next season. This is not the first time that “Real World” was set up in Las Vegas. The first one was in season 12 and now they brought back the custom-made suite at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on its 25th season. Meet the new housemates of the “The Real World” on March 9.
