Simon Cowell Looking for Fourth Judge for America’s Got Talent
Wednesday, December 21, 2011
While Howard Stern has already been chosen as a judge for America’s Got Talent, you will observe more changes in the program’s format.
Simon Cowell, the creator of series is interested in adding another judge to the panel in which Sharon Osbourne, Howie Mandel and Howard Stern already exist. He believes that this will help the show in remaining the top summer series on TV.
“I always like four-person panels because it leaves less room for error,” Cowell told to reporters. “It also means you can have different skill sets on there. I am adamant that we need one.”
Cowell said that he is hoping to add a younger woman in the judge panel and that he may make the announcement in upcoming several weeks. Audition episodes begin taping in February; the show will likely return in late May or early June.
By adding Howard Stern to the show last week, the show America’s Got Challenge has already embraced a change of coast as the show will now be based in New York. The show will also feature new graphics and new theme music for Season 7, and Cowell hopes it also delivers “more of an edge.”
“It has all got a bit fuzzy and it’s in danger of attracting only one type of contestant,” Cowell told to reporters. “A show of this size should deliver every year a [winner] who could become a global star. My gut feeling is that over the years, it hasn’t delivered on its promise enough.”
