Sonja Morgan Disturbed about Bankruptcy

The Real Housewives of New York City star Sonja Morgan finally confronted her financial situations on Thursday night on camera.

First there was a focus group meet for Jill Zarin’s shapewear line which created an opportunity for the cast members to talk about Morgan’s bankruptcy.

Her financial situations made headlines right since the episode was being shot. Sonja had a message as she said, mind your own business about my business problems.

Morgan actually followed The Real Housewive’s of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice’s footsteps. She said, “I’m a private person.” Later on, Morgan told to Ramona Singer, “I don’t think anyone really needs to know.”

Morgan is recuperating against a divorce from John Adams Morgan and she is facing Chapter 11 bankruptcy. She listed $19.8 million in debt and $13.5 million in assets on her petition which she filed in November. Morgan stressed that she is a fighter and her biggest battle is to keep her home and to nurture her growing daughter.

Morgan further said, “The recent events have been very heavy because it’s public and people are looking at me under a microscope, I’m heartbroken.” She was saying this with tears in her eyes.

After the episode, Morgan further explained things through her blog on Bravotv.com mentioning, “It has been a steep learning curve in a business I knew nothing about.” She further wrote, “I am back to doing what I know and will recover some of my loss with continued hard work ... Facing this reality is not pretty for me.”

Aw... I hope she gets financially lucky soon. I can't imagine owing that kind of money. These really are tough times, even for celebrities.

People should really just leave her alone. She's got enough problems as it is. Scrutinizing her is just making things worse.

I wonder how much she got paid to star in a reality show. How exactly did she lose all that money? Did she lose it during the divorce?

That's it. That's what everybody needs: positivity and determination. Some people would just cower in the face of a problem like this.

I'm not really clear on this. Did she lose all that money in a business? If so, what kind of business?

If she lost all that money in the divorce, that could mean that they didn't have a prenup. I really don't get why a lot of people get offended when a prenup is even just hinted at. It's a very practical thing. Signing one doesn't mean you don't trust your partner. It just clarifies what is yours and what is theirs.

I know that this article is about someone getting bankrupt but do they really have to show a picture of her that looks so much like a mugshot?

Of course facing that reality isn't pretty. People with drastically smaller debts already find it ugly. How much more for someone who owes almost $20M?

If you really want people to leave you alone, just don't address them. Let them say whatever. Ignore them. Soon they'll get tired of your silence and move on to their next victim.

It's just awful to owe money. Just so so so awful. I've been paying for my debts for a couple of years now and mine is just a small fraction of what she owes.

Here's a good advice: consult with a financial specialist. There are loads of ways to recover from debt, one step at a time.

I agree. Everybody should start getting educated on proper handling of finances. I'm not saying that I don't owe anything - I still do. But I'm well on my way to paying them off because I sought professional financing help.

Oh, stop. Sonja probably has all the professional financial help she needs. Owing that kind of money calls for all that. I don't think anybody clueless can handle it alone.

The wonders that makeup can do. But I do agree they shouldn't have to use this picture. The story itself is sympathetic.

They say that millionaires actually owe a lot of money. Like Donald Trump. He is a millionaire but he owes a lot of money for his projects.

That's why you should try make your money on the Internet. It costs less and has the potential to earn big! You just have to be really patient, dedicated, and have loads of time.

Bravo for letting yourself be photographed without makeup on. Is this actually a mugshot? If it's not, then I'm really proud of her.

Why are people so concerned of her looks? She has a financial problem. That is the focus here. Stop commenting about her face.

At least she has assets. Still, she owes $6.3M. Maybe she can make all that back in the reality show and if she maybe gets offered some endorsement deals...
