Susan Lucci to Star in Marc Cherry’s ABC Pilot

Susan Lucci has got a chance to return on ABC again. The former All My Children star has been roped in to play a major role in ABC’s Mark Cherry drama pilot Devious Maids.

This new drama pilot is an adaptation of the Mexican format which revolves around four maids whose roles are being played by Ana Ortiz, Judy Reyes, Roselyn Sanchez, and Dania Ramirez, which ambition and dreams of their own while they work for the rich and popular people in Beverly Hills.

Lucci will be playing the role of Genevieve Delacourt, the wealthy but borderline crazy employer of one of the maids.

Cherry will be writing the script while he and Sabrina Wind, Paul Presburger,
David Lonner, Larry Schuman, Michael Garcia and John Mass will be the executive producers. Paul McGuigan has been roped in to direct the pilot for the ABC Studios Production. The pilot will be filmed in Los Angeles.
Lucci played the unforgettable character of Erica Kane on ABC’s recently ended

All My Children from 1970-2011. She won an Emmy for her role in 1999 after she was famously nominated for the lead actress in a drama for Daytime Emmy.
Lucci also appeared on Season 7 of the ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.

All My Children was cancelled last year to provide space for less expensive programming on the ABC network. Lucci criticized then-ABC daytime chief Brian Frons to decide to pull the plug on the long-running soap.

Lucci will now be working with former General Hospital star Brianna Brown, and Rebecca Wisocky, Angelique Cabral and Edy Ganem for Devious Maids.
