The Big Bang Theory tops on GetGlueSunday, March 11, 2012
CBS’ The Big Bang Theory is continuing to make a big bang on the charts. Recently, Big Bang Theory got a clear victory in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic over Fox’s mega-hit American Idol. It is a Chuck Lorre/Bill Prady comedy about a group of exciting nerds. According to the interactive entertainment website GetGlue.com, the series is now at the top of the charts as the No. 1 series. Two-time Emmy nominee Jim Parsons is a part of the crew for The Big Bang Theory which also become the first series which got 2 million check-ins on the site GetGlue. “Fans of The Big Bang Theory go bazinga for this show, and it’s great to see their passion,” said Lisa Gregorian, chief marketing officer at Warner Bros. Television Group, which produces the series. “Whether they’re blowing up the blogs and fan pages, playing The Big Bang Theory: Mystic Warlords of Ka’a on Facebook, watching the series or checking in to GetGlue.com to get stickers and interact with other fans, it’s a real community.” At present, Big Bang Theory is at the top of the chart for Thursday’s No. 1 series in 19-49 demo and it also tops in total viewers for the 2011-12 season till now. It is the No. 2 comedy on network TV with total viewers and the adults 25-54 demographic. It is just behind Lorre’s Two and a Half Men. In the chart of scripted series among adults 18-49, it stands at No.3 position. The repeats of Big Bang Theory are now also being aired on TBS as the series is at the top of charts for programs across all of syndication in adults 18-49 and 25-54.
