Dwayne is caught leaving the women's dorm after curfew through Whitley's window after a night of tutoring Denise. Problem is, if Dwayne tells the truth then Denise gets in trouble, if he doesn't he and Whitley will be suspended by the Dean.

Denise comes to the rescue after Maggie is swept away from a debate with Whitley, by her boyfriend's proposal. Dwayne wants the job at the school radio station after filling in for the ailing disc jockey.

Denise's sister Rudy comes for a visit, but it's Whitley whom she wants to stay with after hitting it off with her. Jaleesa finds out her sister is having dinner with her ex -husband.

Denise tries holding up tradition by stealing the head of the rival school's mascot. At after Grandpa Huxtable finds out about this and labels it as foolishness, both he and Denise seek the help of the Hillman mascot, Dwayne.

Denise is asked to run for the Hillman track team. Cliff is proud to have her following in his footsteps. Denise enjoys the attention, but cannot handle the grueling practices. However she changes her mind when she learns the entire team hates the practices. Maggie desperately tries to track down an economics book that she needs for a term paper.

Whitley's parents are getting a divorce. She tries to maintain a positive attitude, and looks forward to spending the holidays with her father. While visiting Mr. Gilbert stuns Whitley by introducing his new, much younger girlfriend and springs the news that she will be coming along on their trip. Jaleesa and Maggie continually rag on the gifts from their "secret Santas," unaware that they have come from each other. Dwayne arranges to become Denise's secret Santa, even though he is not from her dorm.
